According to reports from various Russian media outlets, including Baza and Lenta, Reeflay is believed to have locked Grigoryeva outside his home in freezing weather, clad only in her underpants, during a livestream. The incident, which occurred on December 2, was captured and broadcasted online, with recordings and clips subsequently surfacing on YouTube.
The livestream depicted a disturbing scene as Reeflay, visibly concerned, brought Grigoryeva back inside, expressing alarm at her condition. “My bunny, what’s up with you?” he said during the stream. “Guys… No pulse… She’s pale. She is not breathing.” The tragic incident has left viewers in shock, with several videos, including clips from the livestream, amassing hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated an “urgent” investigation into Grigoryeva’s death, and concerns about the disturbing content have prompted YouTube to take action. A representative from YouTube stated that Reeflay’s channel was swiftly taken down upon becoming aware of the livestream. The platform is actively removing reuploads of the content, emphasizing that such graphic material is not acceptable on YouTube.
Despite having approximately 4,000 subscribers before the removal of his channel, Reeflay was not a member of YouTube’s partnership program, preventing him from earning money through the platform. Further investigation revealed that Reeflay had used a platform called DonatePay to receive funds during his streams. The Mirror reported that a viewer had paid Reeflay $1,000 in relation to the incident.
It remains unclear which platform Reeflay used for the livestream, as a Twitch representative confirmed that it did not occur on Twitch, and Reeflay has been banned from the platform since 2018. Some clips indicate Reeflay’s use of DonatePay, prompting inquiries into the platform’s involvement.
The Sun, having obtained more of Reeflay’s content, has highlighted a disturbing pattern of violence and abuse against Grigoryeva, including instances of pepper spray use. Russian authorities have stated that signs of beatings were evident on Grigoryeva’s body.
As the investigation unfolds, the tragic events surrounding Stas Reeflay’s live stream video have raised concerns about the ethical boundaries of content creation and the responsibilities platforms bear in monitoring and regulating such content. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that can arise in the realm of online streaming and the need for stringent measures to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals involved.
