James C. DeZao III, a respected attorney, and cherished family man, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, March 20, 2024, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old.

Born and raised in Orange, New Jersey, Mr. DeZao was a proud resident of Montville Township for the past 35 years. He pursued his academic endeavors at Seton Hall University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in 1981, followed by his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law in 1985.
For nearly 40 years, Mr. DeZao dedicated himself to the practice of law, serving as the founder and proprietor of the Law Offices of James C. DeZao in Parsippany. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his devotion to his family.
James, known fondly as Jim, was the epitome of a “family man.” His children were the heart and soul of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His legacy of love, integrity, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his five beloved children: James C. DeZao IV and his wife, Jessica, Francis A. DeZao and his wife, Kristen, Anthony J. DeZao and his wife, Melisa, Nicolette D. DeZao, and Gregory Barnish and his wife, Gianna. He is also survived by his dear mother, Barbara DeZao, his three loving sisters: Louann Dostal and her husband, Bruce, Theresa Campbell and her husband, Scot, and Christine DeZao, and his three cherished grandchildren: James C. V, Sienna, and Jackson DeZao.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Sunday, March 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, located at 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha (Parsippany). The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, Orange.
