Who Was Aubrey Horne Dunn NC?

Aubrey, born on July 30, 2009, to parents David and Alicia Varon Horne, was known for her passion for life, love, and the game of softball. Her vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing her. The Horne family is now grappling with the profound grief caused by Aubrey’s unexpected and tragic suicide.

The funeral service, scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m., will be held at Hodges Chapel Church, with Reverend Michael Preddy officiating. The community is invited to pay their respects and support Aubrey’s family during this challenging time. The burial will follow at Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

Aubrey is survived by her parents, David and Alicia Varon Horne, her sisters, Alexis Horne, Jada Horne, and Harmony Horne, as well as her grandparents Claudette McLeod and Cathy Broome, and great-grandparents Carrie Horne, Sue Byrd, and Marie Moody. She also leaves behind nieces Caeliegh, Caedence, Alyssa, and aunts and uncles, Cari Dickinson, Jason, Cassie Chancy, Chris Robertson, Anthony Varon, along with many other family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home, providing an opportunity for the community to offer condolences and support. Additional condolences can be shared at the home of Cari Dickinson during other times.
