Ryan Borgwardt, a beloved husband and father, went out for a kayak ride on the evening of August 11 but did not return home. His empty kayak was found later that night, prompting an immediate and extensive search effort. Despite the community’s and rescue crew’s best efforts, Ryan was not found until today.
Earlier on August 12, Lakeside Lutheran High School, where Borgwardt’s children are students, had posted a heartfelt message on Facebook seeking assistance from the public. The school, deeply involved in the community, called for prayers and support for the Borgwardt family, emphasizing the distress and hope that surrounded the search.
