In a heart-wrenching incident early Saturday morning, Roy Hallak, a beloved community figure, was struck and killed by a motorcyclist while attempting to cross Interstate 95 near Hollywood Boulevard. The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m., also left the motorcyclist in intensive care, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

Roy Hallak, 44, had been driving his SUV when a crash left his vehicle stranded in the center lane. As he tried to cross from the center lane to the shoulder, he was hit by an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man, was unable to avoid the collision, resulting in a devastating impact. The motorcyclist lost control, causing his bike to spin counterclockwise before going airborne and suffering a severe head injury.
Emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit. Tragically, Roy Hallak was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roy was particularly proud of his son Jayden, who is starting his first year at Columbus Senior High School, and his youngest son, Logan, who just graduated from kindergarten and is excited to begin first grade at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School. The family had been looking forward to celebrating Roy and Amabert’s 9th wedding anniversary on August 8th.
