It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nabeel Aslam, a beloved young member of our community. Nabeel, son of Dr. Azhar Aslam and Dr. Uzma Shireen Aslam, passed away in the early hours of July 22, 2024, following a tragic car accident.

Nabeel, 22, was known for his infectious smile and uplifting spirit. A graduate of Sayre School, class of 2020, he was a bright and promising young man whose life was tragically cut short. Sayre School mourns the sudden loss, with Head Basketball Coach Rob Goodman expressing heartfelt condolences: “Nabeel had a way about him that was uplifting to anyone that was near him. He had a great smile and loved being around his friends as much as they loved being with him. He will be missed dearly.”
The Janazah prayer (funeral and burial) will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Bluegrass Memorial Garden Cemetery, located at 4915 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356. Condolence visitation will take place on Tuesday at Masjid Bilal, 1541 Russell Cave Road, Lexington, KY 40505, between ASR and Maghrib prayers, with ASR Iqama scheduled for 5:45 PM.
Nabeel’s family, friends, and former classmates have taken to social media to share their grief and memories of the accomplished young man. Nabeel’s untimely death is a great loss to his family and the entire Sayre community.
