Mary Lu Zahalan Death: How Did She Die?
Besides being a singer and television actress, she was also a Sheridan College professor of Popular Music Theory and Performance. As mentioned, Oakville Vocal Arts Festival revealed the news, it wrote, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and this year’s wonderful pop adjudicator, Mary Lu Zahalan”.
However Oakville Vocal Arts Festival did not reveal her cause of death. But a source said that Canadian singer Mary Lu Zahalan passed away after losing a battle with cancer. Yes, her cause of death was cancer. Reportedly, Mary Lu Zahalan had been struggling with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She showed her courage like a warrior until lung cancer defeated her.
Who Was Mary Lu Zahalan?
Talking about her career, she had released three CDs and was nominated for a Juno. In her career, she worked with a number of popular music producers such as Humberto Gatica, David Foster, and more. She had signed a deal with Sony Music. Besides singing, she was also an actress who appeared in TV shows and films like Twice in a Lifetime, Top Cops, PSI Factor, Missing Treasures, Read or Not, Exhibit A, The Third Miracle, and Read or Not.
She was the founder of the Commerical Vocal Department in the Music Theatre program at the Sheridan Institute of Advanced Learning and Technology in Oakville. Mary Lu Zahalan did her master’s degree from Liverpool Hope University in the UK where she majored in The Beatles, Popular Music and Society.

My deepest condolences to her family, friends and all who knew her.”
